Emergency Plan
Development
This plan has been developed by the Emergency Planning Group of Bozeat Parish Council. The Bozeat Emergency Plan has been prepared for use in the event of a major incident being declared within the parish. The aim is to provide a framework of procedures to enable a quick and effective response to reduce the effects of any emergency on the public and the environment.
Definition of an Emergency or Major Incident
Any event or circumstance that causes or threatens death or injury, disruption to the community, or damage to property or to the environment on such a scale that the effect cannot be dealt with by the emergency services, local authorities and other organisations as part of their normal day-
Emergencies have no boundaries and could affect the whole Parish or Borough in part or whole of Northamptonshire and due to the unknown nature of these, the Emergency Services, County and Borough Councils, and other agencies may be overwhelmed resulting in a delayed response to specific areas.
Purpose of the Plan
This plan has been designed to enable the Parish to identify the immediate actions they should consider during an emergency. No single agency has the capacity, skills and resources with which to respond successfully to a major incident.
